Disability Compensation -Resulting from military service
Non Service-Connected Disability Pension -For a wartime veteran (or widow/widower of wartime veteran) with limited income and no longer able to work

Education and Training

Montgomery GI Bill -Persons who first entered active duty after 30 June 1985
Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP) -Veterans who entered active duty for the first time after 31 Dec 1976 and before 01 July 1985
Survivors’ & Dependents’ Educational Assistance -Available to some family members of disabled or deceased veterans

Vocational Rehabilitation

To help certain service-disabled veterans (20% +) to get and keep suitable employment

Burial Benefits

Headstones & Markers -Provided to all veterans
Burial Flag -Provided to all veterans
Reimbursement of Burial Expenses
For veterans who die of service-related causes or for certain other veterans who die in veterans’ homes, VA Hospitals, or are in receipt of disability pension -Burial in a VA National Cemetery

Dependents’ & Survivors’ Benefits
Dependency & Indemnity Compensation (DIC)

Payable to survivors of:
Service members who died on active duty
Veterans who died from service-related disabilities
Certain veterans who were being paid 100% VA disability compensation at time of death
Death Pension

Payable to some surviving spouses and children of deceased wartime veterans (based on financial need).

VA Civilian Health & Medical Program (CHAMPVA)
Shares cost of medical services for eligible dependents and survivors of certain veterans

Health Care

Number of health care services
Hospital, outpatient medical, pharmacy and prosthetic services
Domiciliary, nursing home and community-based residential care
Sexual trauma counseling
Specialized health care for women veterans
Health and rehabilitation programs for homeless veterans

Medical treatment for exposure to Agent Orange, radiation, or environmental hazards
