CVSO: Rick Gates

On the job since December 1998, he came directly from active duty with the Navy. A retiree with 22 years service, he spent the first 10 as an enlisted Ocean Systems Technician, and served his last 12 years in the commissioned ranks. Spent 17 of his 22 years in overseas assignments, primarily in the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) field.

Currently serving as Immediate Past President of the Wisconsin Association of CVSO's, consisting of 72 Wisconsin Counties. Member of NWCVSO Association and National CVSO Association. Member of VFW , DAV, AMVETS and American Legion. Master Mason.

Professionally accredited by Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

B.Sc. in Business Administration; A.A. in Management, Hawaii Pacific University (1983).

Gail joined the Polk County Veteran's Office in January 2004, and has been a Polk County employee for over 21 years. Directly responsible for all of the office's administrative functions, from scheduling of appointments to claims handling, she ensures an exceptional level of productivity and effectiveness. Performs many of the CVSO functions in the absence of the CVSO, from fielding questions to referring veterans to appropriate agencies.
