DOG LICENSE:
All dogs over 5 months of age need to be licensed and tagged from your City, Village or Town Treasurer. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required. The tag for a spayed or neutered dog is $3.00. If the dog has not been spayed or neutered, the tag is $8.00. There is a multiple dog license available which is $35.00 for the first 12 dogs and $3.00 for each tag thereafter. A late fee may be assessed the owner of each dog who fails to obtain a dog license by April 1st of each year.
The tag number and required information on each owner and dog are kept on file at our office for reference. If you find a lost dog with a Polk County tag on it, you may call us for the owner information on file. Be sure to note the color and number of the tag. |
