Wisconsin Works
Wisconsin Works (W2), which replaced AFDC September 1, 1997, originated as a work-based program. While the focus is still on employment, whenever possible, W2 is now seen as more of a support system for families as they gather the necessary information and tools they need to be completely self-sufficient. Community Reinvestment and Child Daycare are important supports that help to make this program successful.
