Polk County's Adopt-A-Highway program enhances county roadsides by reducing litter along county roads and educates the traveling public to properly dispose of litter. This program was initiated by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and developed on a local level by Polk County Highway Department.
Any individual or organized group can sponsor a segment of road by agreeing to provide litter pickup twice each year. Safety vests, portable work signs, trash bags and trash removal are provided by the highway department.
It's easy to get started. Select a mile segment of county road, then complete and return the application/permit form. Your group will be assigned a permit number and you're ready to go.
