Parks
Park shelters are available to rent at $40 a day. The Education Building at DD Kennedy Park is available to rent at $100 plus a refundable deposit of $150. Please call 715-485-9294 to reserve or email us at polk.recreation@co.polk.wi.us.

-Apple River Park & Campground:

Rustic camping available on a first come-first serve basis. Fee for camping is $15 per night paid at the self-pay station. Campground is open the Friday before Memorial Day to October 1st. Located 10 minutes from Amery on Mains Crossing Ave off WI-46.
-DD Kennedy Park:
A 99-acre environmental area preserve located between Amery and Balsam Lake along the Balsam Branch which flows through central Polk County. Located 17 minutes from St. Croix Falls. The Education Building located DD Kennedy Park is available to rent along with the shelter.
-Atlas Park:
Located in the northern part of the county off County Rd B. Comprised of three land areas along the Trade River and Long Trade Lake. Located 25 minutes north of Balsam Lake.
-Black Brook Park:
Located southwest of Amery on the Apple River. A large dam next to the park creates the Black Brook Flowage.
-Lotus Lake Park:
A 14-acre park located along the northwest shore of Lotus Lake. This park gives view of American Lotus beds in the lake. Located 9 miles east of Osceola off Cty Rd M.

Trails
ATV/UTV:
To ride on the county trails your ATV/UTV/Off-Road Motorcycle must be registered and licensed. An additional pass is required for out of state riders and is available at any DNR licensing station or online. Passes are $35 and are good from July 1 through June 30 of each year. For more information on passes click here to view the dnr website: http://dnr.wi.gov/permits/trailpass.html.

-Cattail Trail - open year-round - off road motorcycles allowed spring/summer/fall
-Clear Lake-Clayton - open year-round - off road motorcycles allowed spring/summer/fall
-Sterling - open June 1 to November 15 - off road motorcycles not allowed
-Gandy Dancer Trail starting Monday, December 11th, 2017 the Polk County segment of the Gandy Dancer will be open during frozen ground season to ATV/UTV's. 

Cross Country Skiing:
Each skier age 16 or older needs a State Trail Pass before using the trail. Trails are open December 1st following Wisconsin deer gun season. Trails are groomed for classical and skate skiing.

-Balsam Branch -
11-K of which 4-K of the trail is lighted from dusk to 11:00 p.m. Located on 120th Avenue before DD Kennedy Park. The trail is 18 minutes from Amery.  For up to date information on the trail check out www.skinnyski.com. For more information click on Balsam Branch Trail.
-Stower Seven Lakes - Groomed for cross-country skiing. Built on a former railroad corridor, the trail begins in Amery at Harriman Avenue, travels through the communities of Deronda, Wanderoos and Nye, ending about one mile from Dresser at 90th Avenue. Bicycling:
Bicycle Trail Passes are $25.00 for Seasonal and $5.00 for Daily. You must have a pass visible when on the trail. Polk County will observe National Trails Day by offering free use of bike trails on the first weekend in June. Passes are available at local vendors. Bicycle trails have a limestone surface and are groomed throughout the season.

-Stower Seven Lakes -

-Gandy Dancer - 98-mile recreation trail follows the railroad grade from St. Croix Falls north to Superior. For more info click Gandy Dancer State Trail.

Snowmobiling:
All Polk County Snowmobile Trails are OPEN. Click here for more information: update trails

Wisconsin trail pass is required for all snowmobiles. An annual Wisconsin Resident Trail Pass is $30 or $10 for snowmobile club members & AWSC club. A non-resident annual trail passes is $50.
