The Jail Division currently is staffed with 26 Full-time Jailers, 3 Sergeants, and the Jail Administrator.

In February of 2003 The Jail staff and inmates moved into the new Polk County Jail.

INMATE COMMISSARY ACCOUNTS:: As of 6/18/08 there will be another option for depositing money to inmate accounts. Click on the above link for more information.

Effective July 1st, 2008 electronic deposits of funds will be required. The jail staff will no longer be accepting cash, checks, etc. at the service window.

Contacting Inmates:

Inmates may receive mail by addressing letters to the inmate, in care of the Polk County Jail at the below address.

Inmates cannot receive phone calls, but can make collect calls or purchase phone cards from canteen, and call from their cells.

Jail Staff will not pass personal/non-emergency messages to inmates.
