SNOWMOBILE TRAILS ARE CLOSED
All winter trails are CLOSED, regardless of snowfall amounts.
Polk County along with surrounding counties will not open any winter ATV or snowmobile recreational trails for our December 1 through March 31
riding season until after all gun deer hunting seasons end.
There is a muzzleloader season and also an antlerless deer season through December 15.
The earliest we will be able to open ANY snowmobile trails will be December 16.

Polk County is home to over 360 miles of groomed snowmobile trails ranging from remote trails to the Gandy Dancer Trail. These trails offer breathtaking winter vistas as they pass through the forest and farms of Polk County.
Enjoy the hospitality of the communities and business along the way.
Most provide lodging, dining, fuel and other necessities for your snowmobiling pleasure.

Out of State Trail Passes
Out of State passes are required on all county trails. Passes are good from July 1 to June 30 of each year. Passes are $35.00 and are available at any DNR licensing station.
