WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH YOUR OLD CELL PHONES?
Recycle it and you'll help Mother Nature and those in need of emergency communication!!!
Polk County Recycling is collecting used cell phones on an on-going basis for the benefit of the Polk County Recycling Education Fund which will receive a monetary donation for each phone received.
Every day, thousands upon thousands of worthless cell phones are thoughtlessly discarded in the U.S. These phones can be recycled and sent to areas with economic necessity. Some phones are also refurbished and given to those who are in need of 911, emergency only, communications. Cell phones contain many toxins and are very hazardous to our environment and they should not end up in landfills.
All cell phones, regardless of age or condition, will be accepted. Please include your battery, charger and manual when turning in your phone. Make certain to deactivate your phone as well.
You may donate your used cell phone to the Polk County Recycling Center.
If you have any questions on this new program, please call the recycling center.
