Lottery credit is a credit that is given to each permanent resident of Wisconsin. In Polk County, the credit ranges from about $60 to about $125 depending on the school and the municipality that you live in. You are only eligible to receive the credit on the one property in the State of Wisconsin that is your primary residence at. You are not eligible if you claim residency in any other state. You must live in the primary residence on Jan 1, 2013 (or prior) to be eligible for the lottery credit. The credit will show up halfway down your tax bill on the right hand side.
If you are not receiving the credit, please click on the following link and print the form and return it to the County Treasurer's Office if prior to November 1, 2013 or to your municipal Treasurer's office between November 1, 2013 and January 31st, 2014 to receive the credit on your 2013 tax bill due in 2014.
