Visitors to Polk County Buildings
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, Polk County will be limiting access to county buildings for the health and well-being of the public and Polk County employees.  Anyone with county business is expected to call at least one day in advance to schedule an appointment. All visitors will be screened prior to entering any Polk County building.

Polk County has contracted with CodeRED to allow everyone throughout the county the opportunity to receive free

emergency alert notifications that require immediate action or awareness.  These notifications could include but are not limited to emergency evacuations, missing children alerts, emergency road closures, extreme weather alerts, etc.  Those who want these free notifications sent to their cell phone, VoIP phone, or email accounts must register by clicking on the CodeRED icon above.

All current land line phones will automatically receive notifications as our countywide database has been uploaded.

Broadband Forward! Community
Polk County recently enacted an ordinance which encourages the expansion of broadband internet in the county.  Due to the passing of this resolution,
the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin certified Polk County as a Broadband Forward! Community.  This certification identifies local units of government that have taken steps to reduce obstacles to broadband infrastructure development.  Read more about the ordinance, certification, and press release.
